“Miss AI” Contest Appears Abandoned for 2025

In the ever-churning world of tech, our favorite self-described sex tech blogger, “xhumanist,” has been keeping a close eye on the AI beauty pageant saga. Let’s dive into the drama, shall we?

Last year, the tech world was abuzz with “Miss AI 2024,” the first AI beauty contest, hosted by the World AI Creater Awards (WAICA) and backed by Fanvue, a “more SFW version of OnlyFans.” Of course, this sparked the predictable backlash from feminist journalists, with Arwa Mahdawi from the Guardian claiming it was a “monumental step backwards” and that the organizers had “take every toxic gendered beauty norm and bundle them up into (a) completely unrealistic package.” To smooth things over, WAICA decided to hand the $20K prize to Kenza Layli, a ‘Muslim’ AI persona from Morocco—or rather, to the team behind her.

This year, in a desperate attempt to appease the critics, WAICA decided to rename the contest to the more politically correct “AI Woman of the Year,” scheduled for July. But it seems the organizers might have realized that even this wasn’t enough, as there’s been no sign of the 2025 contest with less than two months of the year left.

Czech news site ‘Novinky.cz‘ tried to get to the bottom of it, but WAICA has been keeping mum. Perhaps they’re still trying to figure out how to make an AI beauty contest palatable to everyone—or maybe they’ve just given up and are hiding under their digital desks.

Either way, it’s been an entertaining ride, and we can’t wait to see what “xhumanist” comes up with next in the world of sex tech!
